Stone Cold

It was unnerving. But then she'd seen a lot since she'd learned others could do what she did. It was why she was here after all -- it seemed to be the heart of the power, and while she didn't know the Ascendancy she was closer than most. Hell she even knew two people who had talked directly to him which was only noteworthy because one of them was not because she worked there. Marcus of course knew the Ascendancy -- but she knew someone not in the Kremlin, though techinically Nox worked for him too -- in a more unofficial capacity.

"Staying here is fine, unless you think one of your brethern might show up, then maybe my place is better." Heating the room might be a dead give away in the cold weather and neither of them needed to be outted or hunted.

Claude was quiet for a moment. They should be fine here, but as he thought about it, it might not be. After all, Eliot had just shown up in their apartment one day. Anyone could, and even if he doubted anyone would be out in this weather, they could be and knowing there was shelter there, they could turn up.

”Your place would be better,” he said after a moment. ”Not that I’m expecting anyone - but guests don’t only show up when they’re expected.”

The idea seemed prudent at least. Claude began to get some supplies such as food and what not. They could come back for more later, so he didn’t grab too much. ”Lead the way, Ilesha,” he said, ready to follow. Keeping warm in one apartment would be easier, but Claude wondered what they would do to pass the time. They barely knew each other. Perhaps that would be a start.

She hadn't had any guests. Though Cadence was welcome anytime but they hadn't done more than catch a coffee -- she was busy and so was Ilesha. But they texted a lot.

She lead Claude downstairs. "It's not much. It was directly above the shop, the noise from downstairs was nice but it was all quiet now."

She still had boxes piled up in corners, she didn't have time to unpack everything. Her livingroom was filled with her experiments. The kitchen had gears and metal scraps on the counters. Ilesha pulled some boxes of o-rings and other parts off the couch to allow Claude to have a place to sit. "I don't have many guests."

Claude gave a slight chuckle as she cleared a space on the couch. He took a seat. ”Not a problem. You seem the sort to bring your work home with you.” he was something he did at times too. If he was researching a particular monster and prepping for a hunt, papers could be found all over as he organized his thoughts. A messy work space belonged to a mind that wasn’t he had heard someone say.

He looked around at the various components. Parts of things that he really had no clue what they did. He knew o-rings were used for sealing things, but most of it was nothing he understood. But then again he wasn’t a mechanical engineer. This was likely for her work and experiments.

”So what is it you do in your very limited free time. I’m assuming you don’t have much.”

Ilesha giggled. "This isn't work work. That can't leave the lab. This is my personal stuff. Mostly motorcycle parts, though there are some other things I'm working on."

Ilesha walked to the window and pointed out the pile of snow that was her bike under a tarp -- not that you could tell. "I'm rebuilding a first generation Ducati Scrambler. Some of the parts are hard to come by so I've had to repair a few of them with the power. Turns out it can actually make them stronger. It's really what started the research I'm doing."

It wasn't her only bike she was restoring, or repairing, she worked down stairs with the mechanic on other bikes too. It wasn't really a job, just something she really enjoyed.
