Flora clapped her hands. "Oh,yes. Let us help you find your brother? A puzzle is always fun."

She grinned and hopped off the chair. "Do you think he comes here often? Or were you just stepping in to find some respite from the weather out there?" She hoped it was here. They could look all over, and maybe see more of the club than usual. They might need an escort to help them though. That wouldn't be difficult. Any number of the comapions would take on a group.

Though it was not an overt interest, Eido listened keenly as Quinn introduced herself as a writer. She devoured books, and found far more faith in the depth of a page than the unpredictabilities of people. Her expression remained the sort of respectful interest she would wear for anyone who offered something personal of themselves. Fantasy was not a genre she leaned toward, but she would remember the name to investigate later. For now, she would have offered quiet congratulations but that Flora’s reaction made her inwardly flinch. The irony was not lost on her; she had once offered Kiyohito the same type of honest aid, and had been dismayed at its refusal even if she understood the polite hierarchies of why.

Eido’s lips parted, uncertain. She doubted either woman truly understood the veneer these companion clubs were, and she did not want to be responsible should curiosity land them in trouble with bad people. Discretion was a large part of the glamour, which was why she had been unsurprised and obedient when no one had been willing to tell her whether they recognised Kōta’s description. Rather, had he been here, she would have expected the whisper to eventually reach his ears that a woman was asking after him.

“It is a place he would like. I do not know if he has ever been,” she said finally. Respite from the weather had been part of her reasoning, the fact Hikari was in the Enlightenment District the other; it had simply been close by. The first of many stops planned, but the snow was likely to put an end to that, at least for tonight. Eido shifted like she intended to move, and it perhaps looked like discomfort. She did not want to be here, but neither did she want to return to Zephyr. The difficulty there laid heavy on her of late, ever since she had used the strange device on Sasha Petrova.

Her attention made a subtle shift as a man made an unwelcome advance to the bar. His shirt was pale lace and undone to reveal his chest and various patterns scrawled in luminous, neon colour across the skin there. He’d been watching them for a few minutes already, enough that Eido had noticed the attention, though she only thought it the way of places like this. His arm draped around Flora, and Eido stiffened when he attempted to wrap the other around her. “Ladies,” he greeted, a sweep of his pale blue eyes including Quinn despite her clear chosen company. Then, as though distracted by discovery, he released his hold on Eido with an “ooh” to scoop up the purple cocktail. He clinked it against Eido’s water with a knowing wink, and raised it aloft. His grin was sharp and white, and reminded her too much of the amusement she had seen in Zixin’s. “Cheers,” he said, and helped himself to a sip.

Quinn spent most of her life feeling invisible. It was a part of why she had paid for companionship tonight. She hadn’t been interested in the physical touch so much as someone was present (not that she was unappreciative of Kai holding her). Quinn had grown up in a fairly secluded community and when she went to college she had mostly kept to herself and focused on her studies. Quinn didn’t think herself unattractive; in fact, she knew she was pretty and had likely gained the attention of various people while in college, but she certainly had been too distracted to notice.

That wasn’t the case with the man that approached them and put his arms around Flora and Eido. His gaze had included Quinn, and suddenly she felt seen and vulnerable. She felt heat rise in her cheeks at that and her breath quickened slightly. In that moment, she didn’t feel invisible and she liked it.

The two women he had interacted with had near opposite reactions to the man’s attentions. Flora seemed to know him and was thrilled for his attention. Eido just seemed uncomfortable. Quinn had liked that he had noticed her and that warred with the idea that he was making Eido uncomfortable. She could tell her cheeks were still red and warm as she blushed from the short amount of attention he had given her.

Quinn was normally a quiet person, so she was surprised when the words came out automatically. ”I do not think my friend desires your attention,” she said, her gaze flicking to Eido momentarily. Her volume was quiet, but not timid and held little inflection. Quinn wasn’t even sure what she meant by the words. She had no idea if it was an admonshment, a warning, an observation, or even if the words had been meant for Eido to clarify instead of meant towards the man who had suddenly appeared. Quinn wanted to look away, but she held her gaze on the man, hoping that her blushing cheeks would calm soon.

Flora grinned broadly as a client approached. She wasn't working, though Zeke wouldn't be upset if she did here. Though the people who did run this place might have issues. It was good she didn't have much on her right now. Just enough to look recreational and not like a dealer.

She giggled. "Oh Gideon is harmless." Though she pulled his arm from their shy friends arm and wrapped him in a giant hug and then stepped between the two. "What brings you over to us my friend?" She winked and smiled. "Is Saelia not here?" She looked around for his almost ever present female friend. She didn't spy other model friends either. Was he here alone?

Gideon let go when the woman stiffened, scooping up the drink instead, because no one wanted to be that guy. By her unmoved reaction to his wink she didn’t appreciate the gesture, but fortunately Flora was more than eager for his attention – and to distract him apparently. Who knew she was such a girl’s girl? He laughed away the remark and didn’t seem particularly put out by the reaction. Fine fine. He’d already let her go! Gideon had hardly grabbed something he shouldn’t; he was just being friendly. The third woman’s cheeks had gone a pretty pink, and he gave her a knowing look up and down to say no hard feelings. His smirk was very inviting and more than a bit mischievous. Her friend might not want his attention. But she on the other hand clearly enjoyed it.

“Oh, she’s here somewhere,” he said to Flora with a loose wave for the general area. In fact it had been Saellia’s idea to come to Hikari tonight. This was their first dip into this new scene (Gideon had been all for the more risque Nocturne). But by the time she had absconded with both their chosen hosts, he’d decided he was quite bored by the whole affair. The people here were paid to be nice. It rather took the fun out of anything.

“Making new friends, obviously,” he said. “I’m Gideon.” It wasn’t entirely true. He’d heard them talking, and it had piqued his curiosity. Though his reception wavered the interest a bit.

[[Unless anyone has any objections, I am going to adjust the timeline a bit, so that this doesn't take place during the snowstorm but a day or two before. Still bad weather, but they won't get stuck. I think this makes more sense with the rest of the timeline, in which the snow started to get supernaturally bad around 1pm in the afternoon]]
