Forced Withdrawals [Nox's Building]

[Hayden]

The wait was longer than it should have been he was about ready to open it unpolietly but Tatyana answered. He pushed the door open and Kenzie reached for the bag lying on Tatyana and the other woman lay with her arm over her head. "I'm sorry to bother you while you are clearly in pain. But Kenzie brute forced Nox's safe and stole things from it. While I get the pills, the rest of it Kenzie -- I'm going to need that back."

"I didn't do anything."

Hayden sighed. "So if I look through your things I won't find booze, pills, a gun, a knife and a flash drive?"

"How do you know what was in the safe?"

Hayden smirked. "Kenzie, I sleep with Nox. I know what he keeps in his safe. I've seen the contents. So you can give me it all back and we'll forget it happened, or we can do this the hard way."

Kenzie snatched the backpack closer. "I didn't do anything." She jumped off the bed and ran out the door.

Hayden pulled a draw out next to Tatyana "Tatyana, there is some pain killers in this drawer. I'll have Liv come down."

Hayden sent her a message and she was downstairs before he left. "I'm sorry I don't know if this will work." She said putting her hands on the woman's arm as she looked with the power much like she had with Nox's delving a couple weeks back.

There was power inside and she could feel a kinship to this woman, but she was in pain and that was what she was here for. She wove a weave to help ease the pain. The physical side effects were easy but she couldn't find anything like she'd seen with Nox. Not that she even knew what to look for. Maybe Juls would know.

She removed her hands and asked "That any better?"

[Tatyana]

Something was happening. She had know idea what. One moment Hayden was in there and the next Kenzie was leaving with her bag. The words were loud in her pounding head. Why couldn’t everyone just shut up. Then Liv was in the room. She saw Liv glow and she saw her use magic. It was unique to see this.

Liv’s hand was on her arm and the pain went away. She could still feel something. Probably the craving for the drug, but it wasn’t overpowering at all. She sat up, feeling a bit tired. ”Yeah that helps,” she said, her voice quiet. ”Thank you”. She saw now the open drawer with painkillers in it. That was nice to know about.

Tatyana was aware though that something had happened. She just didn’t know what. ”What the fuck is happening?” she asked Liv.

Liv shrugged. "I don't know. Hayden was distracted when I entered. He was leaving."

Ashton's song had stopped after she healed Tatyana and she said was feeeling better. "Apparently Kenzie broken into Nox's safe and stole everything, but she says she didn't and she took off."

Madison & Mackenzie

Kenzie ran out the door and up the stairs. She pushed on the doors leading outside but they wouldn't move, snow was pushed up agains the door. Kenzie screamed. and panicked, where could she go?

Jump out the balcony maybe? She bolted up the stairs, no one bothered her as she rounded the living room to the back stairs and up. There were rooms she could use -- one was empty -- no one was allowed in. She went in and locked the door and pressed a chair up into it. She had to get out.

[Hayden]

Hayden heard the tromping up the stairs and followed at a regular pace, he still had Lily in his arms, she was sleeping.

He heard the door slam to the empty room. The one Sage had set aside for Nox, but he left empty for his guy to move in. No one claimed it even though the kids were sleeping. Nox was planning renovations and still this room sat empty. It was Nox's house after all.

Hayden tried to open the door but it was locked and it was not an electronic one like Nox's. Sky couldn't open it. And there were no cameras.

"Kenzie. If you jump, the snow will be over your head. You may survive but you'll drown in the snow. I just want the stuff back. You are only making things worse."

[Marta]

Marta was helping out Jackson so they could have things set up for the sleepover. It was fun, and really for the first time in a long time she truly felt like a kid. Sterling was somewhere, Marta hadn’t seen her or Liam. She was certain the two had probably gotten into trouble. But then she saw one of the twins run by, followed by Hayden carrying Lily. Another hour, another fire to put out.

Marta had no idea what was going on, but she knew Hayden could use a hand. ”Sorry - I think he needs my help with Lily. I better go. Talk later!” she told Jackson, giving his hand a squeeze.Jackson hopefully understood. He knew what it was like here.

Marta went to Hayden and didn’t say anything. She just walked up to Hayden and with a practiced ease took the infant from him. He would see it was her. She took Lily to her room where the sleeping child could rest in relative quiet.

[Tatyana]

Tatyana sat and listened as Ashton quit singing and explained. Without his song, the calm was going away, replaced by something Tatyana wasn’t really sure. Kenzie had gone into Nox’s safe. It had been for her. She had asked Sky for help, and then Kenzie had gotten into it and had stolen things from it. Not just the drugs, but something else too. Tatyana didn’t know what.

It made her feel weird - like she had done something wrong. If it hadn’t been for her, Kenzie wouldn’t have done it. The other two adults were here. Liv was closer. Her hand moved briefly as if to take Liv’s. A hand reaching out for the comfort of human touch. It was something she hadn’t felt in a long time. But she brought her hand back before it got too far. She couldn’t ask more from them. They didn’t owe her shit. They hated her and had helped her. She still didn’t know why. But as she felt the pain and guilt she didn’t speak. She hoped Ashton wouldn’t start singing again because for the first time in a long time she felt like she wanted to feel something - needed to feel something.

[Hayden]

Kenzie didn't answer. But Hayden could hear shuffling behind the door. She was trying to open the doors. But those were electronically sealed and Sky had everything buttoned down now. "Kenzie, I just want the things back."

"Go away. I don't need to do anything you say." she shouted.

Liv shrugged and waved. "If you need more let me know."

She went upstairs and didn't see Hayden. But she could hear him talking. She went upstairs to the second floor and saw Hayden outside the spare room. "Did she lock it? I can help."

Hayden nodded. "That would be helpful. If you could do that and then make sure she can't take off -- a wall of air or something."

Liv nodded. "I think I can do that. What did she take?"

Hayden frowned. "Everything in Nox's safe."

"The gun safe? So she has his gun and knife? I can detain her isntead."

Hayden shook his head. "No I got this I just don't want to chase her again."

Live unlocked the door. and then took a few steps back. "You sure?"

Hayden nodded. "I got it."

He opened the door with a quick twist. She lunged at him and Hayden quickly grabbed her around the waist as he dodge around her. "Kenzie I need you to stop and give me things you took. I promise I won't tell Nox."

[Tatyana]

Liv left. Perhaps Tatyana should have said something. But Ashton was still there. Tatyana had been addicted for two years, but this was the first time her addiction had actually affected someone else - at least someone that she cared about. That was why she felt guilty she assumed. It had been her fault. She hadn't forced Kenzie to do anything, but she had for her.

Tatyana looked down, glad for the lack of song. It was weird that she was okay with feeling things. She wasn't okay to feel things, but she felt that she needed to at this time. And she wanted to talk to someone.

"Ashton," she said, her voice soft and her gaze on the floor. She drew a circle on the floor with her foot. "Nevermind." she said after a moment before laying back down on the bed. She wasn't sure what to do. She didn't know what she wanted to do, but she felt she needed to do something.

[Ashton]

Ashton heard Tatyana call his name and then she went back to the room. He stood up and opened the door softly and stuck his head in. "What did you need." He stepped inside and closed the door. "Why do you acti like that? Like you are a bother? There is no one in this house that will judge you. And when I say that I mean those that live here. We've all been through a lot of shit. We get it. We know what it's like to be nobody, we won't treat you like that here." He smiled at her. "If you are feeling better. I think you should go upstairs and help Hayden with Kenzie. Kenzie really doesn't know Hayden, she's not part of group sessions or even talks to him when he's here. He's just a dumb adult she won't trust. She took Nox's gun and knife. It's not about that she stole, it's what she stole."
