Starset is an interesting group to me. They tell sci-fi stories set in a post-apocalyptic world. Their albums follow an arc of a character or characters struggling against the control of mind-brain machines as a metaphor for technology overtaking our world. This particular song, "Trials" shows our main character falling in love and then losing that love. This particular album is set in 2049... 

"Starset’s concept may come across as epochal doom -- a tech-ridden future pulling us from our innate, human intuitions -- but Bates says the band and message are not anti-technology at all; quite the opposite. “We have been saved by technology,” he observes. “Technology has doubled our life expectancies, allowed for increased civilization and replaced endless hunger and workdays with the potential for recreation.”

Bates adds, “However, it also has the propensity to be a dangerous tool of incredible power -- one that can enable the few to easily wield control over the masses when exploited. The only way to reap the benefits while minimizing the dangers is through awareness in the general public.”

For me, this concepts represents Seven by substituting for channeling for the tech metaphor the album. In addition, the central theme of this particular song resonates strongly as him and his past lives.

Fenrir?

This is Slavic-inspired, so has nothing to do with Vikings at all, but every time I hear it makes me think of Fenrir breaking free at Ragnarok. At points its sounds really conflicted.

Vataha means pack. I'll post the lyrics below, though I'm not sure they have any relevance.

When the vocals first kick in it reminds me of when Tristan went all white-eyed and travelled through the pack to send the wolves against Sierra's parents. I have no idea what actual myth it's inspired by. if anyone else likes this kinda stuff, the rest of the album is worth a listen, it's all Slavic/general pagan influenced. The language is Belarusian if anyone's curious.
