Forum sub-boards?

Nox's house is in the Red Light District so Nox's house.  It's two 'doors' down from Kallisti.

The Carnival is with in walking distance of the Red Light District.  (I has a map if you wanna see)

And the Red Light District (specifically Kallisti) is with in walking distance of the Red Square and the Kremlin as Ori wanted Kallisti to be right in their 'view'.

I like the idea of having 'categories of play' but I think it might be more confusing location wis

Outside Town sounds like a good board to have.

The more and more I think about it I think I really like the idea of the "Action/Location" of the thread.

Nightlife could become Entertainment - and the Carnival could go here
Market could become Commerce District - and all shopping could go here I think it does mostly anyway so leaving it The Market is probably fine.
Residential for all the 'personal homes of peoples' and probably should encompass the hotels so something better than residental. Residential and Hospitality.
Government Facilities to include the Guardian (and the detention center)
The Suburbs for outside of Moscow Though I don't think we have many threads there.

I think breaking the residences should go a long way in helping out the greater moscow board.

I was thinking maybe you could break it up into quadrants?  Or maybe the rings of Moscow?

(And I'll survive if you make sub forums, they just annoy me)

What if we used a location based logic for the main headers then a theme-based logic for the individual boards. They could look like this:

• Central Moscow (Within Garden Ring Road) would include the Red Square and Kremlin; the Red Light District for places like Kallisti, Nox’s house, nightlife, and some residential play; and Commerce Row, which would cover all shopping areas, markets, and businesses, Artskaf and Atharim and Brotherhood HQ.
  
• Middle Moscow (between garden ring road and MKAD) would include the University District, Residential Blocks for personal residences not located in the Red Light District, and Hospitals & Research Centers for threads taking place in clinics, labs, or medical facilities.
  
• Outer Moscow (Outside MKAD) would feature the Industrial Zones & Military Zone for factories, training grounds, and Guardian-related tech or logistics, and the Suburbs for outskirt homes, parks, and more spread-out locations.
  
• Underground Moscow would be its own section for tunnels, bunkers, underground clubs, hidden bases, or lost tech.
  
• Beyond Moscow would include any threads taking place outside the city, whether in other parts of Russia or internationally.

So with this logic in mind, the forums could be organized thusly: 

BOX HEADER: NEWS AND DISCUSSION (leave as-is)

• "About" (board) 
  
• "General Discussion" (board)
  
• "Current events" (board)
  
• "Biographies & backstory" (board)
  

BOX HEADER: ALTERNATE TIMELINES (leave as-is)

• "Past lives" (board)

• "Kremlin and Red Square" (board) (encompasses Kremlin, st. basil's, red square)
  
• "Place of Enlightenment" (board) (encompasses Artskaf, shops, Atharim HQ)
  
• "Red Light District" (board) (encompasses Kallisti, RLD businesses, Nox's house)
  
• "Commerce Row" (board) (encompasses GUM, shopping centers not on Nikolskaya street) [alternatively, this board could be merged with Enlightenment board]
  
• "General" (board) (encompasses threads that don't fit into the previous four, like Natalie's apartment or other government buildings not on the Kremlin grounds) [This board might need a better name?]
  

BOX HEADER: MIDDLE MOSCOW (encompasses everything between the Garden Ring Road and MKAD)

• "Business District" (board) (encompasses the skyscraper part of the city, Radiance, Jaxen's home, major corporations like Pervaya and the Shale's, Gracie's Gym and the Red Star Sports Club, possibly Ephraim's building). 
  
• "University district" (board) (encompasses the university grounds, libraries, and surroundings)
  
• "Residential Centers" (board) (encompasses people's general homes like the Vega estate, Marveet estate, etc [if that's an accurate], etc.
  
• "Entertainment" (board) (encompasses the Hole, Nebesa's Gate, Almaz, Manifesto? [can't remember where that is exactly], etc.)
  
• "Hospitals & Research Centers" (board) (encompasses the various hospitals, including the Guardian, but possibly also scientific labs like Ephraim's buildings unless they are within the Central district.
  

BOX HEADER: OUTER MOSCOW (encompasses everything outside the MKAD)

• "Industrial districts" (encompasses factories active or inactive, shipping, warehouses) 
  
• "Military district" (encompasses training areas, the Garden, and other military-related activities)
  
• "Suburbs and Countryside" (encompasses Natalie's school, suburbs, urban sprawl, rural areas)
  

BOX HEADER: UNDERGROUND MOSCOW (OR "UNDERGROUND CITY")

• "Underground Tunnels" (encompasses general tunnel travelings)
  
• "Camps" (encompasses specific congregations of people)
  
• Question: Do we need a third board for places like the 3-trinities church or similar? 
  

BOX HEADER: BEYOND MOSCOW (Renamed Rest of the World otherwise leave as-is) 

• "Rest of the world" (keep the 2 subforums as they are currently)
  
• "The Scroll"
  
• "Place for Dreams"

You could call that "General" Board just "Central Moscow"

And I even if a thread doesn't fall in location wise, it could fall in theme wise and still be approrpiate and easier to find.

Looks good to me.

The only wishy washy one I think is entertainment, because the various venues themselves encompass both central and middle moscow. The Hole is in the poor, mostly residential part; Almaz I don’t even know where that is lol, but it feeds into the underground and is supposed to be an elite secret so probably isn't central; Devil’s Lair is an old subway station entrance that again leads into the tunnels. One of Jaxen’s new companion clubs is attached to Radiance, so would be in the business district. Another is in the industrial river area, another in the enlightenment district, one in the RLD, and one central. Manifesto and Nebesa’s Gate are also probably pretty central.

To a lesser degree the same probably applies to residences imo. Do you have one ‘residences’ board that encompasses all Moscow (and lump them all together because generally speaking a thread in a residence is a closed thread by default rather than design, or at least very limited as to who can just drop in, but rarely labelled as ‘closed’), or work out where exactly a character lives and just post to the relevant district, with a note in the title of the specific location. 

I do like the idea of dividing by central, middle, suburbs, and undercity though. Mostly because I'm not a fan of maps but those headings help organise things in my mind more than just having thematic boards. But I also like that the “nightlife” board is purely thematic. Anything posted on that board you automatically know is taking place in a public place, doesn't matter where it is. 

A middle ground might be that the central and middle moscow headings just both have their own entertainment and private residences boards each (or residences and hospitality like Nox said), and then the rest of the boards continuing under the other thematic headings as Asc listed.

I don’t think 3 trinities needs a separate board or sub board – using the “camps” one in your example would be fine I think. It’s essentially just a beat up church in a poor area, which is located near an undercity tunnel entrance. It’d probably be the only thing on the camps board anyway.

I would argue that it’s still worth considering sub boards for factions with significant story/plot potential. Not that we are inundated with newbies, but it would give a starting point for anybody who wanted to create an associated character, and give an easy and obvious place to start a thread or browse previous threads to get a feel for things without being overwhelmed. Places like Atharim HQ (though admittedly it’s not overly active right now), the Sanctuary, the Garden (being as it's essentially our baby Black Tower... though that might be the only real thing on the military board anyway). But that's less about organisation than potential accessibility. 

And a final thing, however you decide to organise it, we can add a note about which board to post on + a link on each location's wiki pages.

Update: moving threads is super easy. So let me know if you want one moved. I dont know if thread-authors can move their own or if admin has to do it. But in the short term I'll probably focus on threads that are obviously in need of moving and are currently active. You can post here or PM me if you want one moved right away. 

The Greater Moscow and Golden Ring board was moved to Middle Moscow. As of now I haven't renamed it. It can stay as-is or can be renamed. 

Should we just leave it? Rename it?
