Now that she was all dolled up she felt like a different person. She looked like a different person. Ilesha was getting a little nervous - she felt out of her element in these clothes. In jeans and a t-shirt she felt at home. In this fancy red dress and the high heels to match Ilesha felt out of place - this wasn't her in the least bit.
But she paid the price and she only stumbled once before she left the shop with Claire.
Taking the metro didn't seem appropriate so Ilesha called for a cab and they actually rode in relatively luxury to the club. Ilesha couldn't help but rubbing her hands together trying to get the invisible grease off and the dirt from under her fingernails - though she was perfectly presentable.
