It had been a joke -- Nox woke with nightmares precisely at 4am no alarm. Every morning. His guilt waking him. Hayden thought it might be something else too but you never know around here -- monsters were fucking real.
The room was still dark despite the large double windows that were actually a door out to the garden but Nox had it barred from the inside so no one could go out it. He didn't want people using the so-called office as an escape route. Or something like that. Hayden thought it was a big waste of a perfectly good door. But it let in a lot of light if the curtains were open, but he didn't open them as he sat there and wondered how the generator was fairing. The snow had stopped he could tell that much but food and breakfast were going to need to be made.
But he heard someone else awake so he let them do the adulting for now as he lay in bed with Tatyana. He hoped she didn't wake up crying he was happy to talk about it but he really did need a cup of coffee.
