Dead Weight (Pestovo Country Club)
#7
To say Xander had done his research about who he might find at the Pestovo Country Club was only slightly fair. He had done it -- or rather he got the list of names and faces from his hacker friend. He'd paid a nice little penny for it as usual, but Blitz came through as always and provided everything he needed. So when Jared Vanders, husband of Emily Shale of Shale Enterprises sat down next to him, Xander took note of his drink of choice and the images floating about him. Another fucking special channeler type. It truly was annoying meeting so many people with this god-forsaken abilities and forcing their damned visions on him. He was ex-military or maybe still miliitary, he didn't remember all those details from the file but the images of death and war were etched over his aura. He didn't need images to see that, his aura spoke of that all on it's own. But he was expecting a new baby -- that was worth noting.

The bar was relatively empty, just him and Jared until a familiar face walked in. One that might recognize him as someone else. Though Luc and Kristian were not on the same playing field. He would have to double down on the persona, Kristian couldn't slip in. It wasn't hard to do to stay in character, but when crossing paths with others who knew him as someone else that was something completely something else. And this was rare, sticking around a place long enough to cross paths. This was a sign...

Luc took a sip of his drink and smiled at the man next to him. Unlike Kristian, Luc's accent was not gone, not hiding. He played the charming, highly Mediterranean accent. It would be Luc's signature. And Xander could actually speak Italian. "Taking a break from the newly married life?" He didn't mention the soon to be lack of free time -- that would be too much information too quickly. At least this would look like he paid attention to the news at the very least. Everyone had seen the wedding of Emily Shale and Jared Vanders flip by on some screen or another -- it was big news in the money business.
