Cade wasn't sure he had cards lying around. They weren't something he'd do. He didn't play poker with the guys -- he was more the golfer type -- more doctorly. Though he didn't have clubs here, he hadn't brought them, hadn't thought to send them with his things. Cade guessed he really hadn't thought about staying -- not really. Meeting Nox was something he wanted, but he hadn't expected to like the man. He was odd. Had weird concepts, lived a very strange life. But he was very open about everything, even when he felt nothing. No Cade hadn't planned on staying. And now -- maybe he would. I mean who doesn't want to get paid to help underprivileged kids for free? And to help their parents learn new skills, even if at first it was janitorial and medical records. How many homeless people already had skills that no one wanted because they lacked an address? And why had no one else done this? No profit in it. And yet Nox's business plan saw the entire operation in the black with in 5 years.
Cade wasn't sure about the make believe. He'd never been good at it, but he sat down on the couch and then looked at the small amount of blankets, grabbed them and stood back up. "Whatever we do I think for warmth and comfort we should return to the bedroom. Fewer windows to let the cold in. We can trap the heat in a smaller space than this one, And the bathroom is closer. And later when we are hungry you can heat up some more chilli."
