Marisol took a sip of her coffee and pulled out a bag of chips to snack on. She tossed another bag to Dorian because he had commented on feeling peckish. If he wanted something more substantial, they had some sandwich supplies. She opened it and took a bite.
Marisol raised her eyebrow at Dorian’s question. It was a question that would spark the interest of any detective, and it brought with it the idea that there was a reason why he hadn’t wanted her to look into it. There could be multiple reasons why some good and some not so good.
She took another sip of her coffee in thought. Domovoi was a rather secretive organization and likely a big part of the reason why Dorian wondered about how much she looked into it. Right now, she didn’t want to rattle any cages. ”It wasn’t my collar. I stuck around because he was a hostile witness and took care of Rachel as instructed. Didn’t see a need to follow up more because it wasn’t my case. I only asked about Rachel because I know you knew her.” she took another sip. Everything she said was true. She hadn’t seen a need to look into it. If Dorian had needed more help, he would have asked. There was an unasked question in her mind though: should I have looked into it more.
