Marisol used the time they were checking in on their folks to send messages to the few people she knew - Cade, Ricky, her family, and some other friends. It was simple enough because she had few attachments who were not also involved at the precinct. The name Nox came up a couple of times. Nox...Nox...where had she heard that name.
Then she remembered. Ricky had called her to keep an eye on his adopted daughter Marta. They had gone to Nox's house. Nox had nearly gotten himself killed. It was the first time she had seen magic actually happen. One of the girls there had healed his injury right before her eyes. It was an eye opening experience. Knowing magical powers existed and seeing them in action were two very different things as was knowing that monsters existed and seeing that they did as well.
Marisol led them to the kitchen and got out three mugs for coffee. They could get their own and use cream or sugar as they pleased. She opened several cupboards and noted there was more food than usual. The captain had thought ahead. "Looks like the Captain went shopping. Better to be prepared than not," she wondered if the Captain had been a boy scout. "We also didn't have a lot of arrests today, so not many in holding. We should be okay for awhile, but wouldn't be a bad idea to keep from oversnacking." she said with a grin, waiting for the two men to get their coffee before she poured her own.
"So you guys know Nox then. I'm guessing he's your CI," she said. It really didn't take a detective to put that together. "I've not really met him. I saw him at his house once. Apparently he went up against a dreykan with nothing but a broom handle and almost died. That's the extent of my magical knowledge. I've seen a person healed before," she said, taking a sip of her coffee. "Seen a dreykan too, obviously, and some monster that attacks people in their dreams. You guys know about all this weird otherworldly stuff though. Oh, and that one guy who attacked Rachel," she said. "You knew her right? How is she doing?" she felt comfortable talking to these guys about this stuff. They knew about it and would believe she had seen these things.
