Ivan was glad to see that she was trying to keep assumptions in check. It wasn't easy. He'd learned that in general, people hated not having answers. It ate at them. Given a simple "I don't know" or some explanation- no matter how unlikely it seemed- they'd lean toward the explanation. In his opinion, it had something to do with puzzles. People loved puzzles. They looked for patterns everywhere. Including where there was none. Zara wpuld hunker down and just couldn't give up until it was done. One time, a few piece s from another puzzle got in the same box. The hours spent trying to force them to fit....andn the frustration- was intense.
When they- Ivan and Danya had been sucked in to it by then- finally realized whay happened, they burst out laughing. Stress relief, he supposed. So yeah
Anyway, Detective Marisol finished her schpiel. Vega didn't immediately speak so Ivan jumped in. "Did you retrieve all the video from the building or surrounding areas? Anything stand out?" He suspected she would've said something if they had seen someone climbing through a window. "I don't just mean people. Any....odd things? Mists or shadows? Any cats? It doesnt have to be something big.. Just anything.
He wasn't implying a car or mouse or lizard. But he had been in Domovoi long enough to know that there were all kinds of other nasty things put there. From the monsters in the tunnel to that mist thing at the Ball, you simply had to consider any and all possibilities. Not just channelers.
