“Well, thank you for that. Sustenance is important. Fuel for the mind and all that.” She smiled as Cadence shook her hand and confirmed who she was, though of course Lore hadn’t needed that. The shake was efficient, speaking of a woman more used to boardrooms than coffee shop introductions, but the friendliness of her manner was entirely warm. Pleasantries out of the way she might have turned back to her work, but then Cadence asked the question. About what she was doing. And Lore was only too happy to share. In fact it rather lit her up.
“Working on what to work on. I’ve only been in Moscow a few days, but I think I’ll be staying – for the foreseeable at least. I don't think Damien wants me back in Mexico, and honestly it's much nicer here. So I’m mapping contacts and opportunities for investment. See?” She had shifted her work station a little as she spoke, to allow Cadence to see if she wished. There was nothing confidential here, and anyway the woman was a popstar and probably not that interested in memorising a list of influential business magnates in the city, alphabetised and colour coded according to a system that would probably make very little sense to anyone but Lore. Though she would quite helpfully explain if asked.
