The car started to move and Cade noticed the added warmth next to him. He'd moved in far too close but moving now would mean he was uncomfortable or something else he couldn't fathom what a woman might think. He tried not to think about it as Anna asked him why he liked the place.
"It's two bedroom for starters." He didn't say that he might still want a family. Or that there might be room for growth. "The living space is a bit smaller but I don't need much." He was hardly home anyway -- and with a new clinic to start up he was going to be even less at home than usual.
This place was fully furnished as well. All of them where, it was part of his criteria. And why they were probably so expensive for the size. But this was Moscow -- the heart of the CCD. But he had money set aside and he also was impressed with the salary he was being offered for a pro-bono clinic. Though that wasn't what Nox and Ana had called it. It was a free clinic. Free didn't mean he worked for free, only that it cost little to nothing for the people it was for.
Wasn't long before they arrived and Cade slide out of the car on to the sidewalk. He felt the loss of warmth almost immediately and wondered if maybe he was lonely. But it hadn't been that long since his wife had died either. He was torn at the thoughts and smiled the best he could when he helped Anna out of the car.
There was more color in the decor here. It had personality. Though it might be a bit too much personality. But there was nothing wrong with personality.
Their tour guide this time was the agent handling the rental. She was nice enough and she told them all about the building and the area even though Cade hadn't asked. "It's the perfect starter apartment for a couple."
Cade didn't quite blurt it out, but it was close "We are just friends."
The woman looked at them curiously but shrugged, her accent he couldn't place, but it wasn't russian and he didn't know enough about the other areas to really get a feel for it.
The second room was laid out as more of a lounge, though she reassured him that it turned into a bed. Not that he had plans for guests anytime soon.
She left them alone to explore and talk amongst themselves.
