Nora looked at him in a way that said "You need to trust me." Claude could read between the lines. She was concerned about him, but there was more to it, even if he didn't understand where it was coming from. As a kid, Nora had always been protective of him. He could see it in the way she looked at him and the way she held her sleeves as she crossed her arms.

Then she decided to leave. That said something. She wasn't comfortable talking here, and he could understand that. Nora wasn't very comfortable in HQ right now. Ever since she had learned she was a reborn god, she felt ill at ease here, and it made sense. You never knew who was listening. There were whispers of Atharim sympathetic to reborn gods, but you couldn't tell who they were. Any one of the people here may possibly try to kill Nora for just existing.

She closed the laptop with finality, and that coupled with the way she stood next to him, hand close to his arm urging him to leave. Nora really wanted to leave, and it was imperative to her that he go. He was keen to do so. He felt like crap and just wanted to sit in the dark where the lights weren't so bright.

Claude didn't hesitate. "Alright - let's go," he said, standing up.

He allowed Nora to take the lead, finding transportation back to their place. He allowed her to unlock the door and followed her in. He grabbed a bottle of water and sat down on the couch, not turning on any light, closing his eyes. The ibuprofen had mostly worked, but he could still feel the headache. He din't bring anything up. Nora would talk when she was ready, and with how urgently she'd wanted to leave, he had a feeling it would be sooner rather than later.
