Marisol decided it was a good night for her to go out tonight. She had no plans at all. She just simply decided to go out. She had been a detective for about a week now, and hadn’t really had any crazy cases or anything. Not that the job was boring. They had just started her out slow, and that made sense for the woman at the bottom of the totem pole. She was learning more about police work though, and that was enough.
Work life balance was important though, and it had been a long time since she had gone out on a date or just met someone who wasn’t also a badge. Marisol was out tonight to have a good time - maybe meet some people. She just wanted to see where the night took her.
The bar wasn’t anything crazy, but it seemed to be popular. A decent crowd had gathered and for the most part, people seemed to be having a good time. Marisol knew she was considered pretty and a few turned to look at her as she walked through the crowd to the bar where a lone man sat, nursing a beer. She sat down, leaving a space between her and the man, and ordered a mojito. As the bartender made her drink, she contemplated what to do. She hadn’t been out in so long, she didn’t know where to start.
The bartender poured her drink and she turned to the man next to her. He certainly was a good looking guy. ”Hi, how are you tonight?” Inwardly she rolled her eyes. There was nothing interesting about her greeting. She was so out of practice.
