Tatyana lay on her side as the two other women showed up. Her body shook with feverish chills. Her stomach, now empty, still swam with nausea, the feeling worse with nothing to expel. Tatyana was no stranger to pain, but this pain was unnatural and she hurt everywhere. Besides the shivers, her hands opened and closed in painful spasms, and she began to feel afraid. Her high had waned - she had slept most, if not all, of it off, but her body wasn’t craving her pills now. The terrible sickness that had struck suddenly took all of her attention. She had been sick plenty as a homeless woman, but this wasn’t normal at all.
One of the women asked what was wrong, and Tatyana summoned all of her strength to answer. It seemed the women wanted to help, and in her current state of dread, she found herself wanting it. ”Cold and hot…so nauseous…everything hurts.” the words came out sporadically, trying desperately to indicate that this wasn’t a normal sickness. ”What’s happening to me…” she hated being afraid.
