“Doesn’t need. Fixing already.” Tenzin shrugged, not really sure of the words to explain that faint medical scent. The water was only for cleaning a little of the grime and blood while the girl was still; memory stirred, and this one was not a creature for appreciating pack. Almost in the same breath the bowl upturned from her hand, soaking her in warmth before she fully comprehended the girl had shot up. “No manners, Amy Pond,” she muttered.
Dark eyes followed the swift movement. Some part of her nature wanted to rag the pup until sense was restored, but she doubted any of the humans would react well to the correction. Instinct sniffed the instability anyway; the girl’s eyes like black balls, heart racing like fleeing prey. An animal reaction. Mistrust flushed out of her like miasma. Tenzin’s nose wrinkled. She hadn’t moved from her position, though her hands twisted to make a gesture of peace. Words weren’t likely to carve a path to sense, so she didn’t offer any, just sat her haunches back down on the ruined couch.
