This city was vast, perhaps the biggest he'd ever seen. Its complexity filled the world up from horizon to horizon. In this place, less than a lifetime ago, a great strand of fate had been decided. It had seemed a loss to society at the time, but it had simply been a necessary cost; the birthing pain of a new age. It allowed the Ascendancy to rise and take the throne... it had set a great course for destiny.

A strand of fate he clutched in his hands which slithered in-and-out his dreams, to him it seemed to make the first age pale in comparison...
Lih laughed at his own self-aggrandized idea and turned gratefully to his partner Costa, "job's done. Come on, let's go for a smoke."
