RE: Home Sweet Home - Anna - 04-29-2026

Cade didn’t really answer her, but she totally agreed that the bedroom would be a better place to keep warm. She also had some tricks that would help keep things warm too. ”If you have anything we can use to secure blankets over the windows, that will help keep the heat in too.” It was a small thing - and wasn’t full proof - but it would help.

She rewove the ball of air and fire in the living room and tied it off. It wasn’t dangerous, but would keep things warm in the room. She then headed back into the bedroom with Cade. She did the same in the bedroom to keep this room warm. The ability to tie weaves off would help immensely.

Anna sat down on the bed, willing to help if needed, but began to look up a game system she knew and enjoyed. She had a feeling that it would be a new idea for Cade. He didn’t seem the role play type, but that could just be because he had never tried. She thought Nox was into it though.

”Here,” she said, handing Cade her wallet. ”This is a system I’ve used before that’s pretty simple.” It would be fun. You just had to let yourself have fun.

RE: Home Sweet Home - Cade - 05-04-2026

Cade was still in awe of magic. And he knew Nox was a big proponent of using it for just about everything. "I don't really have anything can't you like make a seal of air over it so it can't leak any cold air?" Cade asked curious, not aquisitory. He really had no idea about the power or what she could or couldn't do.

It was a little warmer just with some heat ball floating in the air. Still in awe.

"I'm up for anything." he said climbing into bed and taking her wallet to view what she wanted to play. He wasn't really a big board gamer or dungeon and dragons. And Laney would probably laught at him if she were here. Not because he was being a geek or dork but because he'd never played. She was never afraid of anything like that. Cade wasn't shy but he wasn't exactly a shareer either.

"So where do we start?"

RE: Home Sweet Home - Anna - 05-09-2026

Anna shrugged and tried it. It couldn’t hurt to do so. She formed a wall of air around the window and sealed it as close as she could to the frame. ”Be right back, going to do that to the other windows too.

She came back in a bit and sat down next to him. ”Well first we need to find out what kind of game we want to play - classic fantasy, urban fantasy, cyberpunk, ect. Then what kind of character we want to play.” She smiled. ”This system uses character sentences to get your character figured out. Keeps it pretty simple. You add in different characteristics and flaws for figure out what you’re good at. Easier than D&D I think.”

She pointed out the character creation instructions as she spoke, showing him what she meant. ”We’re popping your rpg cherry today, so I’ll let you decide what genre we want to play in - if you want me to, I can, but i think you’ll have more fun if you’re more comfortable with the setting.”

RE: Home Sweet Home - Cade - 05-12-2026

It was all very new to him. He understood the concept. It was a child's game to play imaginary dress up and pretend. This was just the adult version of it. No real difference than playing cops and robbers or cowboys and indians as kids. Though he had done most of that with friends online in video games -- this was a little more old school. Something his grandparents might have done back in the day.

Though he nodded. "I've always imagined a world like the 1950s, one of those detective noir movies with the femme fatale walks into the PI's office with some job or another. I was obsessed as a kid -- even dressed up in black and white as a detective one Halloween." Cade pulled out his phone and sent his step mom a text. Asking if she had one of those pictures she could send him. No telling what she was up to and the time differences were still new, but she'd get back to him when she had a chance.

"We could even through in some supernatural I guess -- I guess they've always existed." Cade chuckled as he read the character creation rules, didn't seem so hard.

RE: Home Sweet Home - Anna - 05-26-2026

Anna smiled and cuddled up next to him as she began to get things together. ”Okay - noire era with a bit of supernatural. Let’s do a low magic, high tech setting then. The technology won’t be quite as advanced, but it exists and is easy to come by.” anna looked at him and smiled. ”Im picturing you in a fedora now.”

She sent the link to Cade, so he could have the information himself. ”So characters - things to think about. Many of those detectives served in the war - either World War II or the Korean War - tend to be jaded. It isn’t necessary, but some thoughts for backgrounds. Assuming you want to play a detective that is.”

Anna had to give it a thought though. She had never thought to play in this era before. It was unique and she didn’t have a character idea in mind for it. It came to her after a bit. She had read a piece of history about army nurses stationed in the Philippines during World War II that had been captured and served as POWs. That seemed a good fit.

”So my idea is an army nurse who was taken as a POW during World War II. Purple Heart - served in Korea too. A bit cynical and has PTSD. So making a basic sentence…let’s see - give her a name…

Evelyn Murphy is an [intelligent][human][nurse] who [casts spells].

That’s a start for my character sentence. It might change a bit as we go through creation, but it’s a start. Since magic is low - it exists but is hard to come by. She probably keeps it hidden.”
she typed out her sentence and moved to help Cade figure his out.
