No problem, Rachel. You can come have a drink at my almost open bar, or I can meet you someplace you feel safe. I'm not busy now and I understand not wanting to chicken out.

He smiled at the touch and was more than happy to wait. "Anytime. The car will take you anywhere you want to go. I'm gonna walk over to campus and take a stroll through the common areas before I head back to my apartment."
He definitely wanted to make sure she got where she was going, specially if she was going to meet Nox's friend. He wasn't sure it was a good idea, but Nox trusted him. He should trust him. But he felt particularly protective of Rachel, though he had no reason or right to be. And he didn't offer to go with her to make sure he was cool first. He did trust Nox, and Nox trusted this guy.

Rachel sent a reply back to Hayden right away. Send me the address of the bar - that would be fine. No alcohol for me though. It's not a good idea for me to have it.
She turned back to Cruz and stood, waiting for him to stand too. She gave him a hug. "Thanks for this. I'm so glad to see you." She released the hug and let him lead her to the car. "Good bye for now. I'll text you when I get there."

He watched as the car pulled away and was sent wherever she was going. She didn't even say. Cruz took a deep breath and started walking. She would be alright.
