RE: Clarity [Manifesto] - Elend - 02-04-2026 Ozy’s laugh was melodic - the type of laugh that demanded attention for its duration. Elend’s comment had been amusing. The idea that Ozy knew it was a refreshing change in the conversation. Although he mentioned slumming it in Oslo, Elend knew that wasn’t the case. Ozy wasn’t the type to slum it anywhere. He would pay good money to see how Ozy would handle slumming it - would make for a nice spectacle. Perhaps there was a movie idea there. Maybe he’d send it to the movie folks at Arc. Then came the eye contact. A touch on the hand. A creation of an intimate moment. Elend didn’t turn away from it, neither did he push it farther not yet. His hand didn’t move when Ozy’s left. It stayed there - deliberately. He noticed the brief glance at the woman. Forgotten by both of them in their conversation. She was an irrelevant part of what was going on. Ozy’s thoughts mixing with his was also a welcome change. Sharpness. This place as a whetstone. There was truth in Ozy’s words. And the change to a different tactic was a refreshing one. Elend had been quick in his judgment. ”Do I?” he said, responding to belonging here with a smirk. ”What was I hoping to see…perhaps a kindred spirit.” he shifted forward, his gaze a mirror to Ozy’s own. ”And tell me - when you survey your kingdom. What do you see in the mirrors?” |
